In the Healing Broken Men workshop, Tom teaches strategies for breaking the secrecy and addressing the fear, guilt, shame, pain and embarrassment associated with childhood sexual abuse and some spiritual principles concerning triumph leadership.

Why Is This Important?

More than 60 million people in the USA are living with ramifications of childhood sexual abuse. Now think of the families also affected by this tragedy. If we want to heal families in the faith community let's stop pretending this subject doesn't exist, because

it's at the root of many of the destructive issues in society. Ignoring it will not make it disappear. The numbers are believed to be even higher in other foreign countries where child prostitution, etc are prevalent.

A Silence That Destroys

The air buzzed with whispers as the church members awaited the arrival of the speaker. The senior and associate pastor blitzed down the aisle to meet me in the foyer. The senior pastor panted. “I’m glad to meet you! Our associate pastor here made a mistake. He forgot to check with me before proceeding to invite you to speak on this subject. I don’t think… I mean, we don’t think it would be an appropriate subject to expose the congregation to at this time.” The associate pastor apologized.

They escorted me back through the entry doors. Looking puzzled I asked, “Are you sure? What if a parent, spouse, family or church member can benefit? The people are already here!” Two months later I received a call from a mother in that congregation. “My college son overdosed several weeks ago. He was almost successful. I’m told your ministry helps Christian men who are dealing with the aftermath of childhood sexual abuse and molestation. Can you help?

A Truth We Guys Often Deny
